Who we are
Two decades of building brands and the packs they live on.
For more than two decades, we've worked with businesses at every stage helping new brands launch, helping established brands evolve, and helping products earn a stronger place on the shelf.
Over the years, the work has grown. A business that once needed only a logo now needs a complete brand system. A product that started with a single pack grows into a range of dozens of SKUs, each of which still has to look like it belongs to the same family.
That's why we work as a branding and packaging studio, not as two separate services. The identity decides how the packaging speaks; the packaging is often where people meet the brand for the first time. Designing both together keeps them saying the same thing.
What has stayed constant is our belief that design needs a reason. It should help people understand a brand, recognise it, remember it and ultimately pick it up.

Branding + packaging
One idea, from brand mark to shelf.
Branding and packaging are often handled by different teams. We bring them under one roof, so the thinking behind the identity carries straight through to the product in the customer's hand.
The brand
What the business stands for, and how it looks
Brand strategy and positioning
Logo and visual identity
Colour, typography and brand language
The pack
Where the customer meets the brand
Packaging design and structure
Labels and range architecture across SKUs
Shelf impact and on-pack communication
→
When the same team designs both, nothing gets lost in the handover. The colours, the voice and the hierarchy decided for the brand are the same ones that guide the pouch, the box, the label and the bottle and they keep working when the range grows. What we believe
We often begin a project with a question, not an answer.
01
What isn't working?
In the brand, on the pack, or in how the two connect.
02
What has changed?
The market, the audience, the range or the business itself.
03
Who are we trying to reach?
And where they will first see the product.
04
What does the brand need to communicate?
In a few seconds, from a distance, on a crowded shelf.
05
What should people notice first?
The brand, the product, the variant or the benefit.
06
What makes this product different?
And how the packaging can prove it.
What we do
Branding and packaging one thought process.
Our work covers several disciplines, but they all start the same way: understand what a business stands for before anything gets designed.
01
New brand development
Defining what a business stands for, then building the name, logo and identity around it.
02
Packaging design
Pouches, boxes, bottles, jars and cartons designed for how the product actually appears on shelf and online.
03
Packaging systems & ranges
A clear structure for flavours, variants and sizes, so every new SKU fits the family.
04
Label design
Labels that balance brand presence with the product information a customer needs.
05
Rebranding & packaging redesign
Evolving what a brand has already built, without losing the recognition it has earned.
06
Brand communication & website
Carrying the same visual language into the website, social media and marketing material.
How we work
From brief to shelf.
01
Listen
Understanding the business, the product, the audience and what isn't working yet.
Define the brand
Positioning, personality and what the brand needs to say first.
Build the identity
Logo, colours, typography and the visual language the brand will own.
Design the packaging
Exploring concepts on the real formats, then building a system that scales across the range.
Carry it everywhere
Extending the brand to the website, social media and every other touchpoint.
Our strength
We don't look at branding, packaging and communication as disconnected activities. If we create an identity for a food brand, we think about how it will work on the pouch, the box, the website and social media before we've finished the logo.
How we approach every new engagement
Selected work
Brands we've taken from idea to shelf.
The BDS difference
We don't try to be everything to everyone.
Each brand and each pack starts with a different problem the solution should look different too.
Food brand
A ready-to-eat food brand
≠
packaged like a luxury fragrance brand
Sweets brand
A traditional Indian sweets brand
≠
communicating like a contemporary wellness brand
Startup
A new startup
≠
looking like an established market leader
Product range
A growing range of SKUs
≠
a shelf of packs that don't look related
Why client relationships matter
Awards are welcome. Being chosen again means more.
A client may return for packaging after a logo, or for a new product range after a rebrand. That continued relationship tells us the work was useful beyond the original project a more meaningful measure of success than a trophy on a shelf.

Questions & answers
Questions founders actually ask.
A branding and packaging studio creates a brand's identity and the packaging that carries it. At Brij Design Studio, that includes brand strategy, logo and visual identity design, packaging design, label design and packaging systems for product ranges, as well as the brand communication that follows. Because both are designed together, the brand and the pack tell the same story.
For many products, the packaging is where customers meet the brand for the first time. When one team designs both, the colours, typography, tone and hierarchy decided for the brand carry straight into the pack. Nothing gets lost in a handover, and the brand stays consistent as new products and variants are added.
Depending on the brief, packaging design can include concept exploration, pack and label design for formats such as pouches, boxes, bottles, jars and cartons, a packaging system for flavours and variants, and the on-pack communication that helps a customer understand the product quickly.
Yes. We regularly design packaging around an existing identity. We start by understanding the brand as it stands, then build packaging that works with it. If the identity needs refinement to work well on pack, we'll discuss that with you before making any changes.
Yes. A growing range needs a system, not just a series of individual designs. We create a clear structure for variants, flavours and sizes, so every product is easy to tell apart on shelf while still clearly belonging to the same brand family.
Absolutely. We see rebranding as an opportunity to move forward without losing what the brand has already earned. We look closely at the brand's history, its customers and its goals, then refresh the identity and packaging so existing customers still recognise it while new customers are drawn to it.
We work with both. For startups, we help build the brand and its first packaging from the ground up, so the business can launch with confidence. For established brands, we bring more than 20 years of experience to rebranding, range extensions and keeping the brand relevant.
We have worked with more than 100 brands, particularly across food, fragrance, wellness, beauty and lifestyle categories. Each category has its own shelf and its own customer expectations, and we design for the context the product will actually be seen in.
Our process begins with listening. We understand the business, the product and the audience, define what the brand needs to communicate, and build the identity. We then design the packaging on its real formats, develop it into a system for the range, and carry the same visual language into the website and other brand communication.
Our branding and packaging studio is in Vile Parle, Mumbai. Local clients are welcome to meet us at the studio, and we also work with brands across India and internationally.
